Laser-cut Leather Stays

These leather stays were fabricated as a joint exploration of digital technology and armor, as the design it is based on exhibited potential for the effective use of a laser cutter on leather with an intricate design that would have been extremely difficult to execute using traditional leatherworking techniques.

This is a 1/4 scale foam representation of the Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro) body shape. It was first flat patterned in paper then changes were made to the pattern and tested in foam (in 1/4 scale).

Schiaparelli Hand Hat

This is a wire-framed hat with a fosshape foundation and soft sculptural features. Shown being worn different ways.
